Chipotle Burgers with Sweet Potato Buns
10 mins prepServes 4
Flavorful grass-fed burgers seasoned with chipotle, onion, and chili powder, served on quick and easy sweet potato buns. This paleo, gluten-free, and grain-free meal is prepared on a skillet or grill and is ready in under 15 minutes.
For the Grass Fed Chipotle Burgers:
1. Mix the chipotle powder, onion powder, and chili powder together.
2. Add the spice mixture to the grass-fed ground beef and mix well.
3. Form the mixture into 4 burger patties.
4. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add a little olive oil.
5. Cook the burgers for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
For the Sweet Potato Buns:
1. Slice an extra-large sweet potato into rounds (aim for a circular sweet potato if possible). You can boil or microwave the sweet potato slices briefly to soften them if they are too tough to slice or for a quicker cook.
2. Preheat your oven to 500°F or set it to broil.
3. Place the sweet potato rounds on the bottom shelf of the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. For extra crispiness, you can move them to the top shelf for the last few minutes.
Serve the chipotle burgers on the sweet potato buns, optionally topped with kale and sautéed onion.
