Caramel Apple Stuffed French Toast

French Toast:

Whisk 1 egg, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp nutmeg together. Dip 2-3 slices of sourdough bread in the mixture. Cook the dipped bread in a skillet with some butter or ghee for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Apple Filling:

Chop 3 apples. In a pot, combine the chopped apples, 1/2 cup apple sauce, 2 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 cup water. Heat over medium heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes until the apples are soft.

Assembly:

Once the French Toast is done, add the cooked apple filling in between the slices and drizzle generously with caramel sauce.
